'The 73-year-old stallowner, Mr Koh, started his business first at Simei before settling down at Yuhua Place in 2003. He offers two specialties - Penang Laksa and Penang Fried Kway Teow. Unlike the typical Char Kway Teow fried with black sauce, Mr Koh offers only the \'white\' version. Each plate of noodles, infused with wok hei, is stir-fried with prawns, cockles, pork lard and chives. Another speciality that one should not miss is the Penang Laksa. It takes Mr and Mrs Koh 4 hours of preparation to whip up the seeming simple dish. The ingredients are plentiful and colourful - lemongrass, tamarind, mint leaves, laksa leaves, torch ginger flower, pineapple, lettuce, cucumber, and minced Gambong fish. A drizzle of prawn paste sauce, and your bowl of Penang Laksa will be packed with sweet, sour and spicy flavours!
